A
significant part of my work has involved people who
have been affected by war, either as participants
(above, Sudan, 1996), or as refugees (Below left:
Kosovo/ Albania border, Easter Day 1999. Below
right: Rwandan refugees fleeing the RPLA in Goma,
Zaire, July 1994, many of whom had been involved in
the massive genocide that started that April).
In early
2008, the Lancaster University Centre for
Transcultural Writing and Research commissioned me
to produce five images entitled 'Regarding War'. I
have interviewed three people who have come to
Sheffield because of conflict in their own country,
and two people who campaign about war-related
issues.
Their stories are told on the Regarding War blog, and on the following pages.
