While I was Tearfund's staff photographer, I reported on
the mass exodus from Rwanda during the genocide in 1994,
covered the impact of wars in Sierra Leone, Liberia and
Southern Sudan, and documented the Kosovan refugee crisis
in 1999.
I have travelled to places as remote as Mongolia, Timbuktu
and the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, and the pictures
here cover some of that range. I am very aware of the
privilege of being allowed into so many people's lives and
reflect that in my work .
All my work is now shot (digitally) in colour, but I've
always loved shooting black and white images, and still do
occasionally, mainly for my own enjoyment.
